The Categories

Creativity shouldn’t be categorised, but one award didn’t make much sense. There’s plenty to enter, but let us know if you’re questioning which category which work should go into. Good luck!


Advertising

Advertising Campaign Less Than $200,000

Includes the use of three or more media (e.g., Broadcast, Print, Digital, and Interactive etc.) and a total campaign and production budget of $200,000 or less.

Advertising Campaign More Than $200,000

Includes the use of three or more media (e.g., Broadcast, Print, Digital, and Interactive etc.) and a total campaign and production budget of $200,000 or more.

Broadcast Less Than $200,000

Includes paid television and cinema advertising with a total production budget of $200,000 or less.

Broadcast More Than $200,000

Includes paid television and cinema advertising with a total production budget of $200,000 or more.

Outdoor

Includes purchased media such as outdoor billboards, transit shelters, bus kings, digital restobar, digital screens, and elevators. This includes static and OOH video that primarily runs without audio.

Radio/Podcast/Streaming

Use of radio, podcast, or streaming audio advertising creative.

Social Media Advertising

Entries can include organic and/or paid social content. This includes all formats such as static, video, carousel, story, reels, and collection ads.

Reactive Advertising

Campaigns reacting swiftly to current events, leveraging diverse media for timely, impactful brand engagement and cultural resonance.

Experiential/Non-Permanent Installation

Includes advertising that involves a temporary branded environment such as a trade show booth, a paid media domination at a single location, and/or a direct, in-person experience with a brand through live events, stunts, merchandising, or samplings.

Best use of Media

Use of media strategy supporting an advertising campaign that uses creative mediums to promote a product, event, service, or brand.


Design

Logo/Wordmark

A logo or wordmark created for a brand or company.

Branding (Identity System)

Demonstrates the practical application of a corporate identity—for example, as part of a stationery package.

Packaging

Any physical packaging or labeling of a product/products. Please submit photos or boards that represent your packaging. We will not accept physical pieces.

Rebrand

A new identity system for a brand, product or service. Must include at least 3 newly branded applications, including but not limited to website, business card, and stationery.

Digital

Any website,app, game, or other digital branded collateral used to communicate a brans product or service.

Website Design

The website a brand uses to communicate its product or service, exclusive of any single advertising campaign.

B2B

Any piece of creative work (single or series) intended to communicate a message or service to a bussiness-to-business audience, instead of the general public.


Craft

Best use of Video

Video creative that did not run with broadcast, OOH or other paid media—can include corporate, promotional or training videos. Any videos that ran as paid advertising are not eligible in this category and must be placed in Broadcast and Social categories.

Best use of Illustration

An illustration (or series of illustrations) created in support of a marketing effort, design system, or advertising campaign.

Best use of Animation

An animation (or series of animations) created in support of a marketing effort, design system, or advertising campaign.

Best use of Sound Design

Any use of music or sound design created in support of a marketing effort, design system, or advertising campaign.

Best Use of Editing

Any use of editing in support of a marketing effort, design system, or advertising campaign.

Best use of Photography

A photograph (or series of photographs) created in support of a marketing effort, design system, or advertising campaign.

Best Use of Copywriting

Any use of copywriting created in support of a marketing effort, design system, or advertising campaign.

Best Use of Innovative Technology & AI

Work that uses paid digital media or traditional means in a creative or innovative way. Could include social media, digital games, hashtags, VR, traditional media executions, augmented reality, digital billboards, interactive surfaces etc. If AI work is being entered, please provide 100 words or less on how the technology was used to influence the creative process and/or final creative output (e.g., was final animation or video generated by AI?)


General

Most Effective Award

Includes creative work that achieves its objective effectively and addresses the goals set by the client or organization with measurable results. *Requires Case Summary Document

Creative for Good (non-profit)

Includes creative in any medium, produced on behalf of a charity or not-for-profit organization and completed pro bono by an agency or individual.

Student Award

Includes creative work made by a student enrolled in a Vancouver-based post-secondary education program (not within an agency internship). Entries can be on behalf of an individual or group.

Best Creative by a Small Agency

Creative work in any medium from an agency or team of nine or fewer full-time staff.
